Installation Tips

Your design may have creases from shipping.  This will not harm or affect your vinyl designs.

Make sure that the surface is DRY and FREE of dust and dirt!

REMOVE BACKING PAPER:

Flip your design up so that it is flat against your surface and the backing paper is facing you. Carefully and slowly peel the backing layer away at a 45 degree angle. Very slowly, roll it off at an angle along the surface, doing a wiggle pull motion; pull the backing paper away from the vinyl.  If at any time the vinyl does not want to come off the backing paper, push down the paper again in that spot, then push with your finger and try pulling again. For more stubborn spots, help start the transfer by lifting the edge with your fingernail.

Do not touch the vinyl’s sticky side with your hands. The oil in your hands will prevent it from sticking.

REMOVING TRANSFER TAPE:

Using a slow, wiggle pulling motion, pull the top layer (the transfer tape) off at a 45 degree angle.  Do not lift straight up.

For Stubborn Release:

 - Using more pressure, hold down the vinyl design with your finger against your surface as you pull off the top layer.

 - Work with smaller pieces after peeling away part of the top layer and cut away at the excess.

 - Run a hair blower on low heat across the design for a few seconds to heat up the adhesive allowing the vinyl to be easier to work with.

- As you remove the transfer tape, press the design on the wall with your thumb or a dry cloth.

Help! My vinyl decal won't stick! Please try the following suggestions first if you are having trouble applying your vinyl wall decal. Below are situations that could cause our vinyl decals from sticking to your surface.

  1. Washing the wall before adhering it to the wall. The wall must be completely dry before beginning.

  2. For some reason, certain paints will reject the decal making it difficult to adhere.

  3. Adhering the decal after newly painting the wall. Please wait at least 3 weeks after painting the wall.

  4. During application vinyl decals have been touched by fingers.

  5. Too much wall texture.

  6. Waiting too long to put up your vinyl decal. The adhesive weakens when they sit after cutting.

  7. Not properly preparing the surface making sure it is free of dust, lint and residue.

Some suggestions to help you adhere you decal.

  1. Ensure all edges are SECURELY pressed onto surfaces. They will help the rest of the vinyl stay.

  2. Use adhesive sprays for mounting photographs and glue sticks to help you with stubborn parts. These are products that will not harm your wall.

  3. If bubbles are a problem, CAREFULLY puncture with a small sharp object (pin) and allow air to escape. Carefully rub the spot to allow the air to push out, do not pull or stretch the vinyl with your finger. The vinyl will then self heal and won't show the pin hole.

Please try the above suggestions first and contact us if you continue to have problems with your vinyl not sticking to your wall. You will need to provide detail pictures of the issues you are having so we can best help you.
